It was time to leave #Granville,Vermont… I used the last of the #water for a nice warm shower last night…

The dishes were piled up in the sink and I was anxious to get to my next #destination… 

So I took down the hanging T.V. I am so proud of innovating… You see the hook above the cabinet? That’s where I hook the t.v. on and there is a plug inside the actual cabinet… Very convenient… I made sure everything was secure and I hit the #road…

I did a lot of really good #SoulSearching at this site… It really had a feeling about it that I haven’t felt anywhere else… I battled the wet #weather by making a #fire every night… I made some interesting #meals on the #campfire and those #hikes were #soul #healing… even though my #TheDharmaBums book is out there somewhere… Hopefully someone finds it and gets as much out of the book as I did… I left my friends at the bottom of a mountain they just climbed, in the book that is… A good place to leave off for another time when I get my grubby hands on that book once again…

I still needed to get a new front tire with rim for #Mongy and get that back tire #trued… As you can see, it’s warped pretty bad also but can be fixed… So I will keep my eyes peeled for a #BikeShop… I really want to do a lot of #MountainBiking, especially in the #mountains…

Here I am leaving the campsite… Here’s that really small #bridge I had to cross to get in here… I was really nervous crossing it… It seemed a lot smaller in the dark… A big rig could cross this bridge and seeing how they cleared that area across the stream from where I was #camped, I think they have at least gotten a bucket tractor over this thing… I worry too much sometimes… but it’s better safe than sorry because when I don’t worry, that’s when I make mistakes and costly ones at that…

I crossed the #rapids and headed to the main road… I can see they were busy while I was camping… they had repaved the whole road… It wasn’t like this when I pulled into this camp… That’s how secluded I was… I didn’t even hear the construction crew working on the roads…

First I needed to look for #gas… I was at a half of a tank… I don’t like to be anywhere below half when I go to a new site… You never know when you are going to need that extra gas…

I stopped at this cute little #GeneralStore in #Salisbury,Vermont… It had one working pump out front for regular gas and it was only $2.69 a gallon… I couldn’t resist.. There was this really nice older gentleman behind the counter… He was nothing but smiles… I chatted with him about my #trip and talked to a couple of #locals… Such friendly, gracious people in this area… It’s interesting seeing what #BernieSanders comes from… He is huge in #Vermont… I can’t wait to hear this man #debate….

There was this campsite in #Ripton,Vermont I wanted to check out… It was still in #TheGreenMountains but I loved Vermont so much, I wanted to see more… Also, I would like to find a site with #fishing! I am dying to do some fishing, especially #FlyfFshing… I would love to have a fish night on the campfire… It’s been a really long time since I have #filleted and #cooked a fresh fish and those #fish were all from the #ocean… So, this will be my first time ever cooking a fish from #FreshWater… I have to catch the bastard first though… I’m getting way ahead of myself here…

 

So, the #app I was using to find a #dump along my route to Ripton took me the wrong way… It did get me in the general area but took me down this #DirtRoad for some reason… Luckily I called the lady before I left to make sure she allowed #RV’s to #dump at her site…

Folks, you can’t rely on the #internet at all, especially apps… They are always giving wrong information and wrong #directions… This is the third time an app has taken me to the general location but the wrong way… I really don’t understand it… You drive to these locations and you drop a pin… It’s easy as that or you have the vendor do it for you…

That’s why I always call before hand… I had to call three places before I found one that allowed dumping even though the app advertised it as so… I am finding it harder to find the actual truth as #technology becomes more advanced… There is so much crap out there and I would say around 75% of it is false… You would think the opposite would happen with such advancements but leave it up to humans to discombobulate a good thing…

They don’t want us to have the truth folks… they just want us to #consume, consume and make more people who will also consume… I really do believe they make technology difiicult and full of flaws so we spend all of our free time dealing with it instead of focusing on what really matters… Keep your #public dumb, busy and scared… That’s how you properly control mass populations… We think we are #free but we’re really not… Sorry about the #SoapBox but it’s just so apparent sometimes… I don’t see how we can’t realize it and wake up…

As I was #driving I tried to call the lady but there was no service… I had to drive until I got one bar on my #iPhone… Then I called her and she said I was on the wrong road, of course… So I turned around and #backtracked to the right road… The place the app was bringing me was a field with a single #horse grazing… Gorgeous site but not worth the aggravation…

I finally made it to the dump ground… I told the lady about the app and it’s crappy directions but I could see she could give two shits… Honestly, I wouldn’t bother either… Trying to fix such things is so time consuming these days… I may just pull out the old fashioned #map if this continues to happen…

The website I use called #freecampsites.net is pretty accurate… I don’t want to just bitch and complain here… The person on this site gives you a long description of the place you want to camp and explains that not all the campsites are going to be the same or even open… So always have a #BackupPlan… I have my whole trip to #NorthCarolina mapped out on my #GPS and have a ton of backup sites that are close to each other…

Well, I was glad I took the extra time to plan because after dumping, I went to the #GroceryStore and then to #McDonald’s to use their #wifi and post the last 5 days of this #blog… The wifi was really slow and it took me like 2 hours to post everything… So, by the time I was ready for the next campsite, it was already #dark…

Now, I keep on telling myself I would never #hunt for campsites at #night but of course rules are made to be broken… I headed for #Ripton and it was a big mistake… It was way up this mountain and I couldn’t find it in the dark… There was a road that was blocked off, so I think it was closed for some reason… I had to back up and turn around #TheMilleniumFalcon in the dark… I got away without a scratch but once again, it’s so stupid to do such things in the dark… I had to constantly get out and check that I wasn’t going off a #cliff or hitting a tree…

So, now I was stuck without a place to #sleep… I drove back down the #mountain until I got #service once again… I looked up a #Walmart that was only 20 minutes away… Folks, I hate Walmart but I have to say, they have bailed me out a few times now… This #overnight parking option really comes in handy when you are either running behind schedule or you need a spot in the middle of your #travels to catch some needed sleep…

So, I hit the Walmart in #Rutland,Vermont… The person on the app made it sound so luxurious and hip… But besides all the neat little shops around and a few nice restaurants and pubs, this place utterly sucked! I got maybe 2 hours of sleep because it was right next to the #AmtrakStation and they had #trains running all night… It sounded like #Armageddon every time a train pulled in… It was horrible… Never will I stay there again… I don’t care if I’m homeless…

But regardless, I was only 30 minutes from my next campsite in #Danby,Vermont… I did wake up to a pleasant surprise in the morning though but I will tell you about that later… Goodnight…
