Yeah folks…. I have determined I am in Purgatory right now… How can I say this is Hell when so many other poor people across this world are suffering ridiculously compared to what I am going through… Actually, if I was going to look at the state of America, I would say the majority of us are living in some sort of Purgatory…
Oh boy, here he goes again… Folks, I’m not a practicing Christian… I’m not Christian at all…. Let me get that straight right now but I do love the story of Jesus… I love what he represented, what he was trying to accomplish and a good majority of his message that is spread today…
I know there are devout Christians screaming blasphemy right now… Well, they would be screaming if they were actually reading my blog… lol. But I don’t think Jesus was a genius, and I consider Jesus a genius just like I consider Albert Einstein the same, like he would care how I view him as a person, just as long as I understand his message…
Folks, we are too much focused on the worshiping and going through the motions instead of actually following the great message this man was trying to spread… We have essentially become a cliche as a culture because when you run into the average devout Christian, you basically know who and what you are dealing with… the majority of the thinking on this subject is so simplistic and predictable… Like our interpretation is correct… Well if it was correct then the world wouldn’t be in the state it is now… So we need to wake up and see that something is wrong here…
How can someone actually believe that a person who chooses to do good in his or her own life but doesn’t believe in your religion is going to go to hell in return? It makes no sense… On the same level, how can you actually believe a man who goes to church and prays everyday but goes out and creates violence in the name of God is going to heaven? It makes no sense and is a perfect example of that saying “Actions speak louder than words…” I think a man’s actions are a lot more powerful than what he says… So really, religion should be a practice of actions instead of a church full of words…
We make no sense! We need to change this whole ridiculous way we worship God by stopping the traditional way of worshipping him… It starts with us, believe it or not… Us as Americans enjoy freedom that the majority of others across this world don’t… We don’t get killed for not believing a certain way like most people in this world do… But yet we don’t use that to our advantage and are so stuck in this little bubble we enjoy, that now we have become a huge part of the problem…
You want to know what Purgatory is? You want to know what the Bible was talking about when it came to Purgatory? I know we can debate the Bible actually mentioning Purgatory but I don’t have the time for such useless debates… Everyone knows about this Purgatory if they agree with it or not… So lets discuss it solely because it exists as a word in our culture and pretend it really does exist for the sake of this discussion with myself…
If my theory is right that Jesus was talking about Heaven being achievable on earth just the same as hell, then there has to be a Purgatory… there has to be an in between where hell exists yet heaven exists also… I think the United States is a perfect example of this… And if the Bible and Jesus didn’t allude to this state, whoever interpreted it in this way was a genius also… Because in my eyes it exists and we are living it today…
There are many other examples of Purgatory on the earth but I will stick with America as an example, since I live here and know a lot about the U.S. Heaven can be achieved on earth by the majority following the ten commandments… there is no way anyone can argue that if the majority of the world followed these rules strictly, this world would be a better off place… I’m not talking of the possibility of this happening but if it did happen, the results would be a heaven on earth… The same goes with hell and we are already achieving that everyday across this world…
Yet, there are places like America who fit right in between… Societies who can achieve heaven on earth and have the power to help achieve it world wide but don’t even really make an effort to do so… I’m talking as a whole folks… I know there are people who make it there life’s goal to achieve such impossible feats but unfortunately without the majority, those effort’s are pretty much useless… It’s like putting a bandaid on a slit throat… The bleeding won’t stop…
We are all in Purgatory because we have achieved some sort of system that is constantly improving which helps the majority of its citizens enjoy a pretty decent life… We have the ability to get closer to that heaven on earth, Jesus was talking about, but for some reason we choose not to… We essentially take what we can get and tell ourselves we should be thankful even though there are millions suffering across the world… This type of thinking is the most detrimental thinking of all because we are Godly in our appreciation yet we are devilish in our greed to keep it for ourselves and not help others achieve it also…
This denial as a culture is Purgatory to me… And it unfortunately feeds more to the hell on earth than it does heaven… Hell is easy to achieve folks because it’s easy to destroy, oppress and deny… Heaven is near impossible on earth because it takes a good majority to forget about themselves and their families as individuals and treat the whole human race as a one… Destroying these possibilities is actually hell itself and that’s what Jesus was talking about…
One of my favorite sayings from Jesus was “It’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle then enter the kingdom of Heaven…” Really dissect those words because they are so true… He was essentially saying you can’t pursue wealth and power but also create a heaven on earth because obtaining large amounts of money for only yourself, your family and friends in turn puts others in poverty… So you are creating a hell for them! Since we only think of our own little group and try to prosper for only ourselves and them, we are basically denying the other good people and families we don’t know, who are just as good as we are… But somehow we interpreted this as, if you are rich and powerful you will not go to a paradise after death… And even that rule we don’t abide by because there are many rich and powerful Christians in this country… So they obviously don’t believe in this saying or have warped its meaning to justify what they are doing…
Just a short definition of what I think Purgatory is and how I really do think it exists and we are living it… Take it or leave it but if we as a country stopped just focusing on ourselves, our families and the pursuit of riches ,this world would shape out to be a better place… Not that we are not making progress somewhat and we’re not doing better for the world in someways… but that’s not enough… Our dismissal of what is happening around us is creating the hell we see today… When we horde money, food, medicine and have a lot more than anyone can consume while other countries struggle to just quench their thirst, then we are contributors to this hell… Everyone is responsible considering if we thought about things the way Jesus preached, we would see ourselves and everything on this earth as one being…
Just my soapbox and please comment or yell at me to shut up if you don’t agree… I welcome any criticism on this blog and know I don’t know shit about anything… But this is my blog and I am going to share with you everything in my life… And considering my battle with God pushed me to make this trip then my growth through this process has to be recorded… Again, I am not religious, I am just trying to make sense of it all on this journey and I choose to share all of it with whoever wants to read it…
So, back to my Purgatory…. I got up, ate breakfast and then called #LakevilleServiceStation… They told me it looks like it’s going to be another day! WTF! My Purgatory is a reality now… I am stuck in this situation where I have no power to pull myself out… As this is happening I am losing money… I have come to terms with this because I really don’t care about the money, it comes and goes… But the more I lose, the more I am going to have to work on this trip… But instead of looking at this as a setback, I see it as a new part of my adventure… But please, for the love of God, get me out of here! I want to try to achieve heaven on earth and am sick and tired of this Purgatory… Goodnight…
