I woke up around 11am today… The #altitude has made me really tired and working my ass off probably doesn’t help… Battling with the sickness and working all of the time hasn’t really left me with much personal time… I’m anxious to go explore these #mountains but there is only three servers running a breakfast, lunch and dinner Cafe, so getting a day off isn’t easy…

My nose has suddenly decided to give me problems now by bleeding out of nowhere and it always feels as if I’m out of breath up here… Yet my energy is surprisingly high… Can’t wait to adapt to this climate because it’s not easy working feeling like this… It’s like you have vertigo 24/7… When you bend down to pick something up, you feel like you are going to pass out… I’m not exaggerating… And if you rush around for a short amount of time you feel like you have run a marathon, gasping for air it’s so thin up here…

I like to stand behind this shed and look at the mountains when I get a chance to… While I was standing there today, I noticed two #swallows flying at me and making a real ruckus… Then I noticed they had a built a nest that was right above my head… And yes, you probably guessed it, the #nest had little #hatchlings in it…

I know they are swallows because of their pointed, fork tail and the fact their nest is made of mud… You can see how close they were getting to me…

They would fly right up in my face, stall and fly away… I learned watching the #NatureChannel that they do this to distract the enemy and try to make him chase them, in turn leading the enemy away from the nest… I soon felt cruel getting them all rowled up so I retreated a few steps… I could see little heads popping out of the nest… It’s amazing how the babies know to keep quiet when an intruder is present…

So, that was basically the highlight of my day…. I started work at 2pm and worked till close… On Sundays they have a great #brunch with freshly carved roast beef if you’re in the mood for some… #TheNuggetCafe doesn’t mess around and I can see why people come back every year… I’m relieved to say I am really making a huge dent in my mechanical debt with the tips I am making here… Especially considering I don’t have to pay for rent or food… I’m starting to feel like I have made a good decision coming up here regardless of how different I am from all of these people… I love experiencing how different parts of this country think anyway and hopefully I can find some common ground with these folks… I am certainly getting a good lesson on how they think as a majority… Now to find a way to relate to this complete ridiculousness, if it’s possible in any way…
