We woke up in #Hollister,CA to a gloomy yet gorgeous morning… At least it wasn’t raining out… We could have stayed at the #RVResort a few yards down the road but on a trip where any number of things can go wrong, Tracey and I are trying to walk the fine line between not spending too much money and time but also not missing out on some great memories… It’s all up in the air and nothing can be predicted on this trip but if we have a choice between just filling up with water and saving $25 by not hooking up at an RV park, then we are going to do it…

Remember folks, everyone on this trip is new to this #journey… #TheTravelingMac, #TheMillenniumFalcon and Tracey have never been to #Alaska before… We have read a hell of a lot about it but have no idea what we are in for… Also, we’re taking the trip when the winter isn’t necessarily over with up north… We could easily hit a huge snowstorm that would really handicap this trip…

But life is full of chances folks… All you can do is physically and mentally prepare for yourself for what could potentially go wrong… It’s a lot of worrying, crossing your fingers and trying to forget it all so you can enjoy the trip… This creates a huge amount of stress on the trip, so disagreements, attitudes and anxiety really play an evil hand in your #travels …There’s just so many things going on, so many unpredictable things can happen and to top it off, you really have no idea where you are going…

Sure, you have a #GPS guiding you but you forget the whole adventure of it all after awhile… Your smartphone becomes this little intrusive device… You actually get aggravated with it when its the only thing keeping you from getting completely lost and abandoned… lol…

I couldn’t resist taking a picture of this little guy getting a quick breakfast, above… NO! It’s not just a squirrel folks, it’s a squirrel from the wine country… They are known to be a lot more selective and snobby up here… lol…

The beautiful green hills reminded me of #England… Just absolutely gorgeous….

This is all I need to see if you want to sell me your beef… The cows are healthy and happy, we are healthy and happy and the big companies just have to spend a little more money… Sounds like the perfect plan for me… Anywhere when the big company has to spend or gets screwed, I’m happy… I know, I sound bitter but if you witnessed what these monsters do to these cows to cut corners and gain a little more profit, I think you would think twice about eating that burger when you don’t know where it comes from…

We were heading to #SanFransisco,CA folks… I had never been and Tracey had only been once as a child… It’s funny seeing the #suburbs as you drive into the #city… As you get closer, the houses get smaller and more squished together… The neighborhoods looked like they were perfect for the background on a kid’s train set…

We were soon in the city and we took our chances to see if we could get a good big space for #TheFalcon… It seemed like a long shot but…

I knew we were in the clear when I saw this little hippie van parked along the street… I pulled in directly behind it and had room to spare…

And wouldn’t you know that you could park here all day on the weekends! Wow! Considering it was Saturday, our luck was looking really good at this point…

Of course I took pictures of the cross streets… You never know, when you have had a few, sometimes its hard to find your vehicle in the big city… Not that I would drive if I had a few anyway…

What an amazing picture of the Millennium Falcon in S.F above… She seems to fit in in this big #HippieCity perfectly… I am such a lucky guy…

Here’s a statue of #PresidentGarfield… He was the second President to be assassinated in American history…

San Fransisco exceeded my expectations… The city has the size of New York City yet has the cultural intimacy of Boston…

The #parks, #FenWays, and #ponds were perfectly laid out for a long walk through different parts of the city… It was a cool, cloudy day… One of those days where you fumble to take your jacket off to cool down, only to put it back on 5 minutes later…

Tracey and I figured we would walk through the park and make our way over to a nice restaurant and eat dinner…

I left my heart…. in San Francisco…

Yes, I’m singing… I kept on singing the song all the way up to the city… I love Tony Bennet…

I couldn’t believe there were #orchards out here and they were in pristine condition… You have to remember, we are in a city here… The fact that these delicate flowers can thrive in such a busy, hostile environment says a lot about San Fransisco…

But this city is where all the flowers go to resist… Most think they will wilt under such pressure but most thrive out here…

We may appear weak because our main purpose is to spread love and beauty instead of war and destruction… But that is where our strength truly lies…

Because if you approach one of these flowers when its all alone… You could probably crush it with no problem what so ever, without anyone ever knowing…

But when all of those flowers come together and fight for what is right, you can still crush them…  but by doing so, you only amplify their voice…

And that’s what San Francisco represents to me! When I think of #VietnamProtests, the #HippieMovement and all of the peaceful protests, I think of San Fransisco!

And visiting here today seemed more important than any other time in my life… When we have a #President who is trying to roll back all of this progress with his hateful rhetoric, bigotry, racism and sexism…

You would think this country had finally grown out of this primitive, small minded thinking… But there were enough Americans who felt this way left, so this asshole is now our leader… And trust me, The Traveling Mac is going to fight this indecency every step of the way… I may not have any fancy titles… I may not have a lot of money…

I may not have the education… I may not have the skills… But my voice will be heard even if its received as ignorance… For that’s all we have at the end of the day folks… Our voice… And even though times seem bleak now, at best… We have to rely on our #democracy and #voices to get through this misguided time, that we relearn all throughout history over and over again…

For I’m sorry folks, but if you support #Trump then I have to say you are ignorant… Because no one who is educated and knows their history could ever support what Trump says, unless they are a racist themselves or looking to profit off of the corruption…

Because no matter how much you disagree with me or how much you can excuse blatant debauchery in the face of profit, you can not argue with me and keep a straight face when it comes to discussing Trump’s grip on the truth… And the fact we have a whole party and its supporters who are willing to give up the truth just so they can get ahead on policies and politics, proves that they are not in this for decency and will give up all decency to get what they want…

Like it or not, this is extremely dangerous because once the truth is lost, pain and suffering only replace it… For the truth can only be hidden momentarily… it may seem weak when people like Trump don’t respect it but be rest assured, the truth always wins in the end… everyone faces the truth in the end and there is no avoiding it… For mortality is the truth of it all and no lie will change your eventual death…

Wow, getting a little morbid there… sorry… lol… So we waked through #TheGoldenGatePark… Honestly, I felt like I was in a #zoo…

There was #WildLife everywhere you looked… Even when you looked at the pond, there would be some fish jumping or #turtle popping his head up for air…

It was quite a #spiritual experience and you didn’t feel like you were in a city at all…

I don’t think I have ever been happier to see a #rat in my life… If you look really hard above, you will see him blending in with the dirt…

I mean, its not everyday you get to see San Fransisco natives in their natural habitat… And you knew spring was here because everyone has kids…

I could have spent a week in this park and if I ever lived in this city, I would try my damnedest to live near this glorious piece of land…

How awesome it would be to walk this park every morning with a cup of coffee… I can’t think of a better way to start my day…

When I lived in Boston, I used to love to go to The Boston Common and also walk along The Charles River…. San Fransisco had this same vibe… A feeling I never got in NYC for some reason… Not that New York City is inferior, its just a different vibe… Chicago and Manhattan are very similar to me… They are vast and its hard to find the culture of it all… It’s there, its just not as apparent as in these intimate cities, in my opinion…

There were a lot of fights in the pond on this fine day… So #peace wasn’t everywhere… All of the Drakes were competing for a mate while she would try to avoid the whole situation… Sounds pretty accurate… lol!

I guess this turtle likes bread… He was having a feast as he tried to muscle down this over sized piece floating food…

We soon made our way through the park and were on the hunt for food… I was in the mood for Italian for some reason… I took a picture of the little houses out here… I love how they are all different, pastel colors… Very cute…

Don’t know if I would want to live in this place above… lol… This is where Roman Polanski filmed “Rosemarry’s Baby…” No lie!

Just kidding…. hahaha!

Here we go folks! #Marijuana is fully legal in #California come 2018… #Legalization was passed in the last horrible #election… Seems like the only good thing that came out of that election… The states are holding off to implement this new law until next year… Basically they want to set up a program where they can take as much money as possible… It makes me sick!

Tracey and I enjoyed a nice dinner in the Richmond neighborhood of the city… We ate at a nice Italian place called #Mescolanza… Very cute and the food was delicious at a reasonable price…

Then we crossed #TheGoldenGateBridge and parked in our temporary residence for the night… Now, Tracey went above and beyond when she found this special place…

I mean, who would have ever dreamed of going to bed with a sight like this! WOW! The Golden Gate Bridge is in my backyard, folks!!!!

We took a couple of photo ops… It was pretty damn chilly out at this point…

Then we hit the hay after a fun packed day… The Traveling Mac went to bed with Golden Gate Bridges dancing in his head… Ever too excited to see what he will be waking up to in the morning…

What a life, folks!!!! If you are not enjoying it, you’re doing it wrong!
