So we woke up for the first time in #Oregon… I have always wanted to live in Oregon… It just seems like the type of state I would like to reside in…

We stayed at #RockyPointCountyPark in #Bandon,Oregon… It was an empty #BoatLaunch area that didn’t have any customers this early in the season…

We were surrounded by water and lots of these black birds were fishing for their food… I can’t remember what these birds are called but my Granddad used to tell me about them when I was young… He said they have a thin layer of oil over their feathers which allows them to dive deep down without getting their feathers wet… They just float there, waiting… then you will see a couple of them just disappear.. Then after almost a minute they would pop up again and sometimes with a fish in mouth… Everywhere I go these birds seem to be there… Be it on the East Coast or #WestCoast…

It’s remarkable how #evolution works… When I was a kid I used to love learning about #CharlesDarwin and his #TheoryOfEvolution… When you really get into each individual #species, its remarkable how many changes that one species has gone through over millions and millions of years… adapting to its surroundings only to have to adapt again…

Then you think of how many different species there are on this planet… Then you think of how many different types are within that species… then you think of the individuality of each individual creature, unlike any other ever made… The infinity of it all just blows my mind… And we are talking about life on only one ever so puny planet in an enormous, infinite, ever expanding #Universe…

It makes you want to never sleep, hoping to see all you can, knowing that even if you stayed awake your whole life and dedicated every minute to #exploring this world and the life on it… You still wouldn’t even see the tiniest fraction of it… It’s just remarkable…

And when you realize the vastness and power of it all… That stupid paper bill in your pocket doesn’t seem so significant… especially considering its man made and only represents a man made system of work and trade… It could never compare to the complexity of life and what builds it…

Then you look at the #UltraRich, who spend their lifetime manipulating this stupid system of #money and #power… Their whole life is dedicated to a paper bill which only exists because we exist…While their is a whole world and Universe out there that is the reality we live in…

What an empty life… And for what? Just so you can do and have what you want for that tiny amount of time you are not thinking about all of your money and trying to keep it in order, which is a full-time job in itself…

Honestly folks, I don’t want any of it… I realize I have to play the system to survive but a life revolved around the pursuit of money just to make more money is not living to me… I feel sorry for the poor buggars at the #StockMarket… I’m sure most of them are miserable and don’t know it…

Well anyway, #TheTravelingMac was in Oregon so Tracey picked out a nice restaurant which used all #HomeGrownLocalOrganicIngredients… I was so excited!

We found a nice parking spot along the road in #Florence,Oregon and had a nice peaceful, romantic dinner at #HomegrownPublicHouse… We had Clam Chowder, fried clams, fish & chips and amazing handcrafted cocktails…

It was a rainy one today folks… We did a good amount of driving, enjoying all of the sights… It definitely was an exciting, gorgeous drive… The wind was pushing and pulling us as we navigated these pretty twisty, turning roads…

We needed to make up some time but also didn’t want to miss Oregon all together… So we decided to get some chores done… We went shopping at Safeway, stocked up #TheFalcon and stayed at #WashigtonStateParkRestArea… But don’t worry, we weren’t in #Washington yet…

My mother bought me all of the #OscarNominatedMovies of the year for my birthday… So, Tracey and I would watch a movie almost every night before we went to bed… I need at least a couple of hours to unwind before I hit the hay… It just takes me a lot to get tired considering I am an insomniac… But I had some good bud with me… And I seem to sleep better on rainy, chilly nights… As long as the wind is blowing us to all hell… lol…

This #RestArea was right along the #ocean and #OvernightParking was not allowed but we figured we would take our chances this early in the year… We found it very unlikely anyone was checking considering there were hardly any travelers on the road yet…

I made some of my famous homemade popcorn and we watched #Moonlight… It was a gloomy day yet a good one…
